Karon DickinsonHotel owner Karon Dickinson can now say that to more people thanks
to a little help from LEGI. Karon had already bought and successfully renovated the Seaways Guest House in Ocean Road, South Shields. With the success of the hotel and the support of a LEGI business development grant behind her, Karon has now bought and renovated the once-empty Caledonian Guest House in the same street. “I knew work on the new Tyne Crossing was planned to start later this year and that around 18,000 people will be contracted to build the tunnel,” said Karon. “It was obviously a growth area for the new business.
“We opened the Caledonian at the beginning of March. Without LEGI and support from Business Link, who helped with our website, branding and marketing, we could not have been ready so early or been in a position to offer such a high standard of service. “All of the rooms, for example, are new and include en-suite facilities. LEGI has delivered for us at exactly the right time when there is a huge predicted growth in the market.” Karon Dickinson can be contacted on 0191 427 1226
